Montessori believed in giving children long periods of uninterrupted time, during which they could select purposeful activities and develop deep concentration.
This goal is achieved during the work cycle, when children may choose from a variety of activities including the Montessori materials, creative work, baking, gardening, and so forth.
Breakfast will be offered between 9am and 10am for those who wish to have it. This will consist of porridge with oat milk, fruit, oat cakes, bread, nut butters as well as hummus, cheese or beans. Between 10am and 11am, children can choose to have a snack.
Circle time is when the children come together as a group. Activities may include stories, singing, Spanish, yoga or discussions about topic work. After this, children are responsible for setting the table for lunch each day and clearing up after themselves.
