This is the core timetable subject to flexibility.
Montessori believed in giving children long periods of uninterrupted time, during which they could select purposeful activities and develop deep concentration.
This goal is achieved during the work cycle, when children may choose from a variety of activities including the Montessori materials, creative work, baking, gardening, and so forth.
Children work individually or in small groups, deciding when to have their snack, which they prepare themselves.
Circle time is when the children come together as a group. Activities may include stories, singing, Spanish, yoga or discussions about topic work. After this, children are responsible for setting the table for lunch each day and clearing up after themselves.
